"Welcome to China’s largest metropolis in the south, where modernity and Chinese tradition blend harmoniously. As a Chinese doctor and professor who studied at the University of California, Berkeley, you’ll appreciate the magnificent Pearl River Bridge, the longest cross-sea tunnel, the delectable Cantonese cuisine, and the continuity from traditional to modern medicine. Your family will have a memorable experience here!
Our family of four lives together in an apartment. However, our eldest son is studying undergraduate courses at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and rarely stays at home. Our younger son is about to enter the 9th grade at Jinan University Affiliated Middle School. I go to the hospital every workday to treat and care for patients, while my wife spends four hours each day doing medical testing at the hospital.
Every day, we take walks in the nearby parks and greenways. We often swim, watch the Olympics, play chess, and ride bicycles. Occasionally, we go on camping trips by car. Our younger son even occasionally rides his bike for over 100 kilometers as part of his exercise routine. And sometimes, he takes lessons from a coach to learn table tennis and piano.
I am a medical English professor at Southern Medical University and Jinan University. I teach medicine to international students and serve as a mentor for international students. I have studied in California at the University of California, Berkeley, and worked at the University of Michigan. I enjoy communicating with young people and have the ability to guide their English and medical learning.
My eldest son is studying and communicating entirely in English at university. He spends about 20 days at home during the summer vacation. My younger son is currently learning English. We can explore various international cultures and languages together, volunteer at hospitals to assist international students and patients, or learn CPR techniques and knowledge."
