"I am a fit sixty-four year old English teacher married to a Dutchman and we live in Austria! Learning languages is one of the hobbies that I enjoy the most. Since we live in Austria, we go on holiday to Italy at least once a year, and I enjoy trying to converse with Italians in their own language. I have studied Italian for a number of years but I find it very difficult to speak the language. I feel a bit nervous about a homestay but I think it would really help me to be immersed in the language.
In my free time I love to read. I particularly enjoy historical novels but last year I discovered Alexander McCall Smith and I have read all of The First Ladies Detective Agency series, five of the 44 Scotland Street and have just started the first Sunday Philosophy series! I have a dairy intolerance and since our children are vegetarian we tend to cook a lot of vegan dishes. I like cooking very much. My husband and I go on lots of walks at weekends and most of our holidays involve walking in nature. We went to Sao Miguel in the Azores this summer and the walks were great. I am learning to play the ukulele which gives me great pleasure. Recently, I took up line dancing and I love it!
I enjoy having friends round for dinner, or meeting them in town. I would like to have a dog but since we both work this will have to wait a few years. When I retire, I would like to do some travelling so I guess that it will be quite a few years before I can get a dog! "
