Teach English in Italy

Teach English in Italy.  Live with your chosen Italian host family in Italy and teach them conversational English for a few hours each day  in every-day situations such as cooking, shopping in the food market or visiting the local sights  Your role will be to informally teach both children and adults English in exchange for your meals and accommodation. Some of our Italian families may choose to pay you a small salary for your work as an English conversational coach.

There are many Italian host families living in all parts of Italy looking for a resident English teacher coach. Many Italian families live in the major cities of Milan, Rome or Bologna. Teaching English abroad in Italy is a really interesting way to get under the skin of Italian culture whilst adding to your professional teaching experience.

We call teaching English conversation in Italy ‘working as an English Language Au Pair in Italy’. Teaching English in Italy as a Language Au Pair allows you time to gain valuable and practical English teaching experience without the need for any specific language teaching qualification. If you already have a TEFL qualification for teaching English then you can still take part in our program. Qualified teachers will probably find it even easier to select an interesting host family in Italy.

Lingoo’s English Language Au Pairs in Italy don’t have any child care or domestic chores during their stay with their Italian host family.  Your work is simply teaching English to your Italian family as part of your working holiday.  Your Italian host family will provide an authentic atmosphere, meals and accommodation while you teach them English conversation skills in their home. More about Italy

The epicentre of the Roman empire and the birthplace of renaissance, Italy was and still is a very important and powerful European country. Only being united as a country in 1861, its 20 regions are more akin to individual states with different dialects, traditions, architectural styles and specialist cuisines. Of course Italian food is known the world over but nowhere is it better enjoyed than authentically in Italy itself.

From the colosseum and pantheon in Rome to the Duomo and Michelangelo’s ‘David’ sculpture in Florence, the country has an unparalleled amount of artistic treasures. The natural landscape of Italy is also extraordinarily diverse ranging from the Northern snow capped alps to the Southern sun drenched Amalfi coast. Life in Italy is very much about living well and indulging in the finer things, whether that be sipping a freshly ground coffee in a quaint cafe in Venice or shopping until you drop in the fashion capital of Milan.
