Teach English Abroad

Teach English abroad as a conversational coach. Live with your host family and teach them English for a few hours each week in everyday situations. You will teach English to both children and adults in exchange for your accommodation and all meals. Some host families may also pay you a small salary in your role as a conversational coach in English.

You can teach English abroad all over Europe and within a growing number of families in South America. It’s a really interesting way to spend some time abroad and it won’t cost you much more than your flight and some spending money.

At Lingoo, we call this English conversational teaching experience: ‘working as a Language Au Pair’. Teaching English  abroad as a Language Au Pair allows you to gain valuable informal teaching experience without the need for a teaching certificate or language teaching qualification. However if you have a TEFL or similar qualification for teaching English,  then even better!

Language Au Pairs have no domestic duties or child care on their homestay with the host family.  Your stay is about teaching English to your host family as part of your working holiday.  All host families will provide authentic local meals and accommodation while you teach them English conversation skills in their home. You can choose between FREE and paid membership options.
