"I am an English Language Teacher and currently work with the Educational Training Board in Donegal as an Adult Education Instructor. I have taught in the ESL industry since 2001 in Japan, Italy and Ireland to students of all academic levels and ages.
I live alone and have a very active lifestyle as I work part-time and I am a mother to two grown daughters and a grandmother to four beautiful girls. My interests include outdoor activities as well as literature, traditional Irish music and culture. While hosting over the last two years my students had the pleasure of experiencing many of these activities during their stay in Donegal.
Donegal is based in the northwest of Ireland on the Wild Atlantic Way, one of the most beautiful locations in Ireland - voted the coolest place on the planet 2016 by "Lonely Planet" . I am surrounded by beautiful blue flag beaches, Irish Castles, outstanding scenery, Glenveagh National Park and the highest sea cliffs in Europe - The Slieve League Cliffs.
Proposed excursions for students - day trips to historical castles, boat trip on Donegal Bay, day excursion to Glenveagh National Park or sea cliffs.
Proposed evening activities - trip to local Irish pub to listen to traditional Irish music and experience some Irish culture, a trip to a local theatre or a visit to the local cinema to enhance the language learning experince for the student.
Donegal hosts numerous festivals throughout the year and I will be encouraging my students to accompany me to these wonderful events.
Student Assessment
When students book a course with me - I will require them to complete an assessment to ascertain their proficiency level and their interests. Course will be structured to their ability and their needs. Feedback will be given to the student daily after each lesson.
I will design a course incorporating a variety of materials and learning aids. I use a syllabus for students requiring examination classes."
