Some hosts can also arrange to pick you (or your child) up at the airport or station and transport you there again when you return home. The Lingoo contract is also there to help unaccompanied children pass through immigration. The identity of every host is checked personally by the Lingoo team before they can register with us. Prior to being developed as a purpose-built resort in 1810 for wealthy Victorians, Bournemouth was simply deserted heathland. Since then people have flocked to the seven miles of wide, sandy yellow beaches. The town centre architecture is notably Victorian and the skyline dominated by St Peter’s Church’s magnificent 62m spire. Popular with the party crowd, Bournemouth also has plenty of quieter hip hideaways and great restaurants serving sublime seafood.

There’s a growing surf culture and a popular water sports scene focussed around Boscombe Pier. With an obstacle course, climbing wall and zipline, Bournemouth Pier also has an adventure sports focus. During summer months you can hire one of the brightly coloured iconic beach huts and chill out listening to the waves in one of the 3000 deck chairs lining the immaculate sands. The art deco style Pavilion Theatre with its Corinthian column frontage has brilliant events most nights of the week.
