Who are our Host Families?

Host Families are what make a language homestay special. They not only provide comfortable accommodation and home-cooked meals but also go the extra mile to welcome guests into their home as another member of the family. That means sharing everyday activities, from outings and family life to everyday chores and special interests, so that guests feel at home immediately.

Hosts can also offer other services, such as meeting guests at the airport or station, laundry services, catering for special diets, or help in organising a language course, to make the experience as comfortable as possible.

Our hosts (who must be over 18 years of age) range from the traditional (two adults and one-or-more children) to one-parent families, young couples without children, retired couples and people who live alone.

At least one responsible adult must be present in the house at all times during the homestay (except when accompanying guests on day trips). To add to the fun of a language homestay, hosts and guests are encouraged to match their interests before booking.
