About Lingoo
Lingoo is an international club for language exchange and homestays. Children, teenagers, adults and family groups connect through our online community to enjoy authentic cultural and language holidays with native speakers. Choose between exclusive Exchange Stays and Paid Stays with selected Host Families or Host Teachers.
We are not an agency. Instead, Lingoo is a direct contact platform where members organise their own stays. Security is provided by comprehensive member verification, including ID checks. This makes Lingoo’s stays welcoming, safe and fairly priced.
How it Works
- Search for Host Families, Host Teachers or Exchange partners on our Search page .
- Choose the profiles that suit your child’s project.
- To start organising a stay, you’ll need to join as a Parent Member.
Three Membership Levels
The Parent Membership lets you organise immersion stays for one named child, depending on members’ availability. You can choose between three membership levels and upgrade at any time:
Full Membership
- Unlimited exchange stays with other matching members.
- Unlimited paid stays with Host Family or Host Teacher Members.
- Your profile is visible in search results (unless you hide it).
- Valid for one year and protected by our Guarantee.
- Verified profiles available free of charge for other family members.
- After expiry, your membership continues as Verified.
- No booking fees. Booking of paid stays requires a 15% voucher which is then deducted from Host price. Exchanges are always free.
Verified Membership
- Unlimited paid stays with Host Family or Host Teacher Members.
- Profile visible in search results (unless hidden).
- Unlimited duration. Add other Verified profiles for family members at no extra cost.
- 2.5% booking fee. Booking requires a 15% voucher which is then deducted from Host price.
Free Membership
- One paid stay only.
- Profile visible only to Hosts you contact.
- Limited messaging and no “security checked” label.
- Subject to validation.
- Availability dependent on geographical location.
- 5% booking fee. Booking requires a 15% voucher which is then deducted from Host price and payment for verification.
Stay Prices
- Exchange Stay (For Full members only): Free.
- Paid Stay: Price varies depending on the Host. All pricing information is indicated under the tab Our prices of the profile. To estimate the cost of your stay, add:
>Accommodation (per night)
>Chosen activities and services
>If you book with a Host Teacher, one language lesson per day of stay will be automatically added to your booking.

How to Join
1. Go to the Join Now page and register.
2. Click on the verification link sent to your email address.
3. Select the category and level of membership that best suits your project.
4. Click on My questionnaires and carefully complete all your profile questionnaires. Don't forget the photos. Credentials are not required.
5. Pay your Full or Verified membership by Card or by Bank transfer.
6. In My questionnaires, ask for validation.
Once validated, you can contact other members compatible with your membership category and level and organise your child’s first stay. Confirm the stay through Lingoo. A personalised contract is created with all the important details. Payments to Hosts are secure and guaranteed by Lingoo. We also offer comprehensive travel insurance.
