How do I join as a host?
It’s free to join Lingoo as a host. Simply register your details with us by clicking here and completing your Lingoo profile in as much detail as you can. You will be asked to provide identity documents and proof of your address (a recent utility bill is ideal) as part of the validation process.
We will market your homestay on Lingoo using your profile, which you should think of as your ‘shop window’. So completing your profile to the highest standard is very important. Include appealing photos of yourself, your family, your home, the room where your guest will stay, any pets, and the surrounding area. Demand is high so we must give preference to families who have taken time to present their profile in the most appealing way and provide us with a good background file of information.
You can prepare some parts of the registration process in advance. For example, we will ask you about your family (the personalities and occupations of each family member), your lifestyle, home, area, and day-to-day life. We also need to know about how guests will benefit from staying with you and your family – especially the activities you will offer – and how your family will benefit from hosting students from abroad.
