This option is particularly popular for families with young children, families who are considering a move abroad and want to ‘try before they buy’, or simply families who enjoy undertaking new challenges and exciting adventures together.
How Does It Work?
There are a number of ways to enjoy a family language immersion experience. The first is a two way language exchange, where two families each take their turn to offer hospitality. It takes some organisation on each side and both families need to have big enough homes to accommodate each other. But it is a really fun way of experiencing a new country and culture whilst keeping travel costs low.
The second option is to simply arrange a one-way stay with one of our hosts who accept families. You’ll pay the host family directly and arrange the experiences you would like to have and activities you would like to do with them. Because of our secure online messaging system you will be able to get to know your host family before the stay and discuss exactly what you are hoping to get from the homestay.
The third option is similar to the above but involves staying with a host family who has a qualified language teacher in their household that can provide structured languages classes. This can be for part or all of your family. Our hosts are very flexible.
