"Als promovierter Oberstudienrat (D/evR) und Privatdozent habe ich konkrete Vorstellungen davon, wie guter Unterricht aussieht. Giuseppina ist Gymnasiallehrerin. Für mich war sie ein absoluter Glücksgriff. Giuseppina ist sehr gewissenhaft und sachorientiert. Sie stellt selbst die höchsten Ansprüche an sich. Sie ist sehr flexibel auf mich eingegangen. Daher ging es um Konversation. Die Themen waren Literatur, Geschichte, Berufliches und Privates. Dabei hat sie mich wunschgemäß auf alle meine Fehler hingewiesen. Da ich seit vielen Jahren Französisch spreche, ist mir das Französische öfter in die Quere gekommen. Das konnte Giuseppina immer sofort erkennen, weil sie selbst in Frankreich studiert und promoviert hat und natürlich fließend Französisch spricht. Dass sie sehr viel Humor hat, ist neben ihren Qualitäten als Köchin das berühmte Sahnehäubchen für mich gewesen. Wir haben, je besser wir uns in diesen zwei Wochen kennengelernt haben, immer öfter sehr viel gelacht."

"Mis hijas de 7 y 10 años y yo pasamos 8 días con Sarah. La convivencia fue muy buena desde el inicio, nos recomendó y acompañó a algunas actividades. Nosotros contratamos media pensión, la comida que nos hizo estaba buenísima, siempre estaba dispuesta a ayudarnos, a llevarnos a lugares con su coche. Condujo como 5 horas par llevarnos a un lugar que quería conocer. Muchas gracias Sarah! No he tenido mejor anfitriona para esta experiencia con mis hijas. "My three‑week homestay with Penny and her family was outstanding. During my stay, I completed 75 classes, and Penny proved to be an excellent teacher. She helped me improve my pronunciation and organised each lesson in a clear, structured way, ensuring we covered all key points during the five hours of daily classes. I felt real progress in my English. Her family welcomed me warmly and made me feel like a true member of their home. The house is spacious and located in a beautiful, friendly community. I loved walking through the area with their two adorable dogs. The food was another highlight. Penny cooks with great care, offering delicious meals with a varied and thoughtful menu. These three weeks were incredibly valuable for my learning. I felt at home, enjoyed a wonderful environment, and made significant progress in English. "

"J’ai passé un séjour absolument génial dans cette famille ! Mylène est une personne vraiment très gentille, sympathique, accueillante et toujours prête à aider quand on en a besoin. Elle fait tout pour que l’on se sente bien et comme à la maison. Elle a trois enfants, et j’ai eu la chance d’en rencontrer deux. Ils sont tous les deux vraiment adorables, très gentils, ouverts et super agréables. J’ai beaucoup apprécié passer du temps avec eux et apprendre à les connaître. La famille est vraiment chaleureuse et accueillante, et l’ambiance à la maison est toujours très agréable. Et en plus, Mylène cuisine vraiment très bien ! J’ai adoré les repas et j’ai toujours très bien mangé. Je garderai vraiment un excellent souvenir de mon séjour."

"My daughter stayed with Valerie and her family for 10-days during the summer holidays. She was made very welcome into their lovely home. Valerie was very patient with my daughter who wasn't that confident in using her French. She was included in all the family activities during her stay. Prior to the stay, we had a video call to introduce the family, and have a tour of their home, to ensure everyone was comfortable with the arrangements. My daughter benefited from the stay and I would recommend Valerie and her family as hosts."

"Notre fille Alice (17ans) a été très chaleureusement accueillie par Gigi et Jon pendant 15 jours fin juin. Une expérience formidable pour elle avec de gros progrés en anglais et une prise d'autonomie. Alice a adoré pouvoir échanger en se sentant comme un membre de la famille. Les cours sont très adaptés et le vocabulaire de la veille toujours repris en début de séance suivante. Alice s'est rendu à Londres par le train et a rejoint seule la station de metro proche de chez Gigi qui l'attendait. Durant son séjour elle a profité en se baladant seule ou avec Gigi, selon ses envies, les propositions de Gigi étaient variées et inclusives. Une expérience très forte pour elle, nous l'avons retrouvé grandie !"

"Elisabetta, Giovanni et leurs trois filles sont des hôtes adorables et d'excellente compagnie. Ce fut une merveilleuse expérience pour notre fille de 17 ans qui découvrait l'Italie pour la première fois. Elle a beaucoup apprécié son séjour et les activités proposées (un concert comme elle le souhaitait, des baignades en mer de Ligurie, la cueillette et la dégustation de délicieuses mûres et d'autres fruits et légumes que la famille cultive elle-même). Elle a également pu visiter un peu Milan comme elle le souhaitait. Nous recommandons vivement cette famille à d'autres personnes."

"My 16-year-old daughter had a wonderful experience staying with Marina and her friendly family in Vigo and I would not hesitate to recommend this homestay to other parents. My daughter was welcomed as one of the family and took part in a range of fun and character-building experiences. Communication was excellent and we had an introductory video call before the homestay, as well as contact throughout. My daughter's Spanish has certainly improved as she was fully immersed in the language and culture during her stay. My daughter enjoyed the food and lifestyle and also had some cooking lessons during her stay, returning home with some delicious recipes that the family kindly gave to her. The family has lots of friends and my daughter enjoyed socialising and meeting new people. There was plenty for her to do in Vigo over the few weeks she spent there. "It is a very enriching experience. We were able to converse in both French and English and correct each other's mistakes without any pressure, as we were at similar proficiency levels. I think starting with a five-day period is a good approach; it is neither too long nor too short for getting to know one another. If you want to meet again for a longer period later on, you can, but if you don't hit it off, five days is at least a manageable timeframe. In my opinion, this type of exchange is a great way to improve in a language; you are forced to speak and make yourself understood. It is an excellent exercise—an experience I would gladly repeat."
