"Hello! Hannah is looking forward to understanding the culture of the countries she will visit. We have already traveled quite a bit in Europe, so she is desiring to gain a deeper understanding of the people, their traditions, and values. Along the way, she hopes to pick up some of the language allowing her to communicate with the local people. We have also hosted two exchange students for 10 months apiece and have had many other international students in our home so differences in cultures will not be new to her.

Our family is a very close-knit one. We are all relatively introverted so enjoy time together over meals, playing games, or watching movies. We live in gorgeous Washington State where we participate in many outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, boating, etc.

Currently, our daily life consists of college for our two kids in the morning, studying and relaxing in the afternoon, and then sometimes work, piano practice, or more schoolwork in the evenings. On weekends, we mostly enjoy free time at home doing small projects/hobbies, time with friends or family, or taking advantage of our beautiful surrounding. On Sundays we attend church.

Hannah has a very easy going yet conscientious personality. She is a hard worker and excels at her school work. Her favorite school subjects are Creative Writing, History, and Public Speaking. She is very interested in cultures and really enjoys ethnic food. In her free time, Hannah enjoys curling up with a good book or checking out the latest posts from her favorite bloggers. She also likes shopping, especially at thrift stores, and spending time with friends. Some of her free time is also spent coaching beginning gymnastics and practicing piano. One of her hobbies is collecting interesting vintage items particularly books and postcards.

Regarding an exchange: If you are able to come and stay with us, especially over the summer, we would be delighted to share many of the wonderful experiences we have in Washington State. We have many amazing hiking and biking trails nearby as well as indoor activities like bowling, ice skating, and an old-fashioned soda fountain. The cities of Seattle and Spokane are both options to see more of our area.

Although we don't have an official English teaching facility nearby, I have home-schooled our kids in English and would be able to help with basic lessons and support in language growth.
